Brit Awards 2017: Complete List of Winners

The Brit Awards, often referred to as the British Grammys, was a star studded evening filled with the biggest names in the music industry. An average of 5.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the ceremony.

Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran took center stage to showcase their newest tunes on television but they were not the only performers. Little Mix, The Chainsmokers and Robbie Williams performed as well.

Little Mix and Rihanna took the lead alongside producer Skepta for the most nominations this year with three each, while Drake and the late David Bowie follow closely behind with two nominations each.

Michael Buble was set to host the awards but pulled out from the gig after his son’s cancer diagnosis. So instead, Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis hosted the festivities.

As well as honouring David Bowie, the Brits paid tribute to George Michael, who died on Christmas day. His former Wham! bandmates Andrew Ridgeley, Pepsi and Shirlie, made an emotional speech, saying: “His beautiful voice will live on forever as a gift to us all.”Coldplay’s Chris Martin then sang an understated but moving version of Michael’s A Different Corner, duetting with a recording of the star’s own voice.

Robbie Williams picked up the Global Icon Award, which was handed to David Bowie posthumously last year.
